I’m a Fan
This was sent to me today, and I found it so fun that I thought I’d share it.
Copies of the UK paperback are sold at the newsstand at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong. Now, I’ve never been to Hong Kong, but I thought it was good that the book is resting in such fancy digs.

I had a hard time getting through this book. There was far too much use of the F word, vulgar and crass language and way too much sex. I would not recomend a friend to read this book.
I think the idea behind the novel was good, ( class and culture and the disparity people experience) , but the author deluded it with all the vulgarity. I would not read this author again.

It’s interesting to me that what repelled Kate in fact attracted me to this book… to me, the vulgarity added honesty and reality, because that is how “real” people speak and act. But that may just be indicative of the people I tend to keep company with (20 somethings) and nothing more =)
I loved the book!

I Know, I know that 20 somethings probably do talk like( I did when I was 20) that and the language fit the characters. Even though I didn’t care for the book, I appreciate the author writing it, and am glad others enjoyed it.
